Heavy Lift Slings & Grommets Slings

Specialist in Cable Laid Slings & Grommets

My name is Pieter Kampers, nationality Dutch, and born in 1940 at Bandung, Indonesia.
My education is metallurgical M.Sc. at the Technical University of Delft. After 10years of working in steel mills I joined United Ropes in 1979 as technical engineer.

Besides the technical process I gave technical support to Sales and for the Netherlands I was the representative in technical working groups and revision of Standards.
One of my specialities was Cable-laid slings and Grommets.
Due to heavy demands in the offshore industry I was fully involved with the development in increased diameter, length's and weight. United Ropes - till their bankruptcy in 1993 - was the world leader and was in the possession of all world records concerning heavy cable-laid slings and grommets.

I was one of the members for the revision of PM20 of October 1987 and member of the technical working group for development of the European standard EN 13414-3, which will replace the PM20.

It was an honour for me to come in contact with GAYLIN in 1994 and to be their consultant.

They are producing a good quality cable-laid, made from the best available ropes, and according to the above mentioned standards. I'm constantly in contact with them to give them technical support.

After the merger with Den Haan Steel wire rope I took residence at the head office at Ridderkerk, from where the 3 factories (Dongen, Leiderdorp and Hamme/Belgium) were technically controlled.

Specialized in elevator ropes (sales in the USA/Canada) and offshore ropes. The development on thicker diameters and higher tensile strength of the wires and ropes, heavy lifting and the grommets were accompanied.
